“Summer in Suffield Celebrated”

As the final summer days are ticking down to an end, it is hard to believe how quickly the time has flown with all of the new and traditional offerings, camps and programs offered by the Suffield Parks and Recreation Department. Participants did not have to travel far to make many beautiful memories while staying right here in Suffield. In fact, many families took the time to have a"Stay-cation" and took part in our variety of enjoyable programs and events. We had many new offerings with some fun, family nights along with our tried and true traditional favorites. There were numerous highlights from all of our camps and programs but the best memories and moments from the Summer programs were the smiles that were shared and a common theme in all of our programs – “Celebrating Suffield” especially with the 350th on the horizon. A terrific song was written by veteran Summer Camp staff members-Ryan and Gabrielle Zeller that sums up the summer here in Suffield! (This was written and sang for one of our Summer Camp theme day events!)

An interesting fact about Suffield is it used to be called Southfield.

Summer now is unfortunately coming to an end. Living in New England, one thing many of us all realize is that the seasons of change can feel like they go by so quickly. With fall is just around the corner and officially beginning on Monday, The Suffield Parks and Recreation Department has many new fall offerings for the whole family: including fitness, educational, crafting, sports, trips and Inclusive programing.
