Telecommunications Employee Helps Save Suffield Woman's Life
Customer service rep summoned help for her during a July phone call.
A phone inquiry into her communications bill may have saved the life of an elderly Suffield woman, thanks to the alertness of the customer service representative on the other end of the line who detected something was wrong, the New Haven Register reported.
Joyce Crawford, 85, was discussing her bill with Frontier Communications rep John Pelow on July 10, when Pelow noticed she began slurring her words.
Pelow called 911, and paramedics discovered Crawford had suffered a subdural hematoma, or bleeding on her brain.
