Yesterday was the first official international race for Emily this season - the Nations Cup in Lillehammer, Norway. It was snowing hard (which slows down the track) and she was the last slider to go - not generally a good omen. But she pulled it out and ended with the fastest run of the day among the US women sliders, and she finished 10th overall:

As with any competitive athlete, she was hoping for an even better finish - but this keeps her squarely in the running for a possible Olympic spot. A solid start to the season!
Now it's on to Igls, Austria for the second race next Friday...will let you know how it goes!
