Traffic Advisory Issued for Suffield Center Area on Saturday
A funeral for a high school senior is expected to draw hundreds of vehicles to the area, prompting concern about pedestrian safety.

SUFFIELD, CT — Concerns about public safety have prompted Suffield police to issue a traffic advisory for the center of town for late morning and early afternoon Saturday.
Hundreds of mourners are expected to attend funeral services for Suffield High School senior Brianna Mailloux, beginning at 11 a.m. at the First Church of Christ on North Main Street. Due to limited parking and seating at the church, community members are encouraged to use parking available on High Street, Second Baptist Church and Suffield Academy construction overflow parking lots.
Police are anticipating lengthy traffic delays and traffic congestion on Route 75 north of Mountain Road during the late morning and early afternoon hours. Due to a high volume of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in and around High Street, motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, and plan ahead using alternate routes.
