Truck Strikes Elderly Pedestrian In West Suffield
Warnertown Road was closed for several hours during an investigation into the cause of the collision.

SUFFIELD, CT — A commercial truck struck an elderly female pedestrian on Warnertown Road in the West Suffield section of town Wednesday afternoon, sending her to a local hospital for treatment.
The collision took place around 2:57 p.m. in the area of the 100-200 block of Warnertown Road. Initial reports indicated the truck struck an elderly woman. Suffield emergency services arrived on scene in less than three minutes and begin rendering emergency medical aid to her, Capt. Christopher McKee said.
The pedestrian was conscious and alert, and was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and further emergency medical care. The driver of the truck was not injured, McKee said

Warnertown Road was closed for more than three hours to all northbound traffic at Mountain Road and at the Massachusetts state line for all traffic traveling southbound out of Southwick, Mass. The road re-opened around 6:30 p.m., McKee said.
