Untimely Death Of Prison Inmate Probed In Suffield
The inmate died over the weekend, according to Connecticut State Police.
SUFFIELD, CT — An investigation is underway into the untimely death of an inmate at MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution over the weekend.
State police said Troop H personnel responded to the prison Saturday, Jan. 31 around 11:48 p.m. to investigate.
Foul play is not suspected, police said on Monday.

Andrius Banevicius, a spokesperson for the Department of Correction, said the individual passed away early on Feb. 1.
The department’s security division is jointly investigating the incident along with the state police, Banevicius said.

The prison is a high/maximum security level facility which houses adult males, according to the department’s website.
Police and prison officials have not yet released the inmate’s name or cause of death.
