Varsity Schedules Set to Begin in Suffield

SUFFIELD, CT — Schools are all now back in session throughout Connecticut, and athletic teams have been practicing for nearly two weeks. Looking forward, opening day for Suffield High School varsity squads is literally just around the corner.

Here are the scheduled regular season openers for Wildcat teams:

• boys soccer - Friday, Sept. 8 at Rockville, 3:45 p.m.
• field hockey - Friday, Sept. 8 vs. Westbrook, 4:15 p.m.
• football - Friday, Sept. 8 vs. Nonnewaug, 6:30 p.m.
• girls soccer - Friday, Sept. 8 vs. Rockville, 7 p.m.
• girls swimming - Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Watertown, 4:30 p.m.
• girls volleyball - Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Canton, 5:30 p.m.
• cross country - Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Ellington (with East Granby and Rockville), 4:15 p.m.
