VIDEO: Suffield Students to Lady Gaga: Meet Our 'Katy Gaga'

The students have created an online effort in hopes of convincing the pop star to meet their special needs classmate.

Suffield High School students are gaga over Lady Gaga — and with good cause.

The students have initiated an online campaign on behalf of fellow student Katie. Katie, a non-verbal special needs student, is a huge fan of the pop star who will be appearing with crooner Tony Bennett June 29 at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford.

It seems that Katie loves to perform to Lady Gaga songs and the students have embraced her talents in their theater program. [Check out the You Tube video below of Katie whose peers call ‘Katy Gaga,’ dancing to Lady Gaga.]

So the students are hoping that their online effort will lead to Katie meeting her idol June 29.

According to a friend of Katie’s family who goes by the moniker ‘Katie Gaga,’ “Katie is ‘Katy Gaga’ performed in a Unified Theatre play where special needs students work with other students to write, direct and present a musical. Unified Theatre, along with Best Buddies, are successful inclusion programs found at Suffield High School.”

“It was the students’ idea to start the #sendkatietogaga after seeing how she reacted to the music and being the performer,” Katie Gaga said.

In addition to the You Tube video of the musical performance, the students have created a Twitter account with the hashtag #sendKatietoGaga, in hopes of getting the star’s attention.

On Friday, someone donated front-row tickets to the concert for Katie, according to Katie Gaga. So for now, at least Katie will get to see her idol perform.
