Was a Suffield Police Dispatcher Drunk on the Job?

Two police officers claim in complaints they've filed with the department.

Two Suffield Police officers have filed complaints with the department administration claiming that a police dispatcher was drunk on the job last month and that they both smelled alcohol on the dispatcher’s breath.

According to a WFSB report, the two officers filed complaints after the 7 a.m. incident on Oct. 5. The officers also claim the same unidentified dispatcher showed up for work “extremely intoxicated” in late August, according to the report.

The two officers also claim the dispatcher’s condition may have impeded the performance of their job in at least one instance.
