Road Worked Planned In Suffield

SUFFIELD, CT — Drivers in several parts of Suffield may encounter road crews and fresh pavement paint Friday, when the town plans to complete road markings in a number of locations.

The weather-dependent work is scheduled for July 31 in Rising Corner; portions of North Stone Street and South Grand Street; Copperhill Road south of Phelps Road; Mapleton Avenue; River Boulevard; River Boulevard Extension; and Remington Street, according to the town.

Town officials did not provide work hours or announce any planned road closures or detours. Motorists are being asked to use caution, watch for wet paint and avoid driving over freshly painted markings while traveling through the affected areas.

The work will take place on a mix of main routes and neighborhood roads. South Grand Street is also the site of a separate, ongoing CT Water project replacing about 2,400 feet of water main. The town said that project is expected to continue through Aug. 20, with work generally scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The town said the striping work may be rescheduled if weather conditions do not cooperate.
