What's On Tonight: Fear Factor, Terra Nova, The Closer

Fear Factor, 8 and 9 p.m., NBC

I have been rummaging through my closet all weekend, and diving deep into the attic, looking for clothes I wore 10 years to wear while I write about the return of Fear Factor. Remember the year 2000? So much scared us back then. First, we were terrified by Y2K – I still have cans of tuna left from that false panic. In 2000 we were scared to put our credit card information on the Internet. I know, right?!? At that time, Fear Factor was absolutely shocking to viewers. Survivor hadn’t even started yet. On Fear Factor contestants had to eat a bull testicle! Whut?!? In the 11 years since then we have seen it all, and seen it all done, on reality TV. Heck, this summer there was a game show that booted you off by strapping you to a freaking rocket ship! So I am slightly curious to see what Fear Factor will do but mostly I am sad for NBC that is has come to this.

Terra Nova, 8 p.m., Fox

The penultimate episode. Next week we end with a two-hour finale. No word on if Fox will pick up this expensive series for more episodes. My 11-year-old has enjoyed it, but he eats chocolate Pop-Tarts for breakfast every day, so don’t take his taste into account.

The Closer, 9 p.m., TNT
