William D. 'Bill' Hinson, 78; Truck Driver Who Drove More Than 1 Million Accident Free Miles; Lifelong Suffield Resident
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Aug. 6 with the funeral service scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7.

William D. ‘Bill’ Hinson, 78, of Suffield, Beloved husband of Donna (Livingston) Hinson, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Hartford Hospital.
Bill was born in Hartford on Dec. 28, 1936 the son of the late J. Walter and Mildred (Dakin) Hinson and lived in Suffield all of his life.
Bill attended Suffield Academy and was a graduate of UCONN School of Agriculture. Bill was a 55 year member of the Masons Masonic Lodge #28 and a member of the Suffield Lions Club. He was also a member of the West Suffield Congregational Church. Bill was employed at Smith & Wesson in Springfield, MA for several years; then employed at Sonoco (Grief) as a truck driver for 25 years, driving over a million miles accident free. After his retirement, he worked at The Sacred Heart Church and The Heritage Funeral Home.

Besides his loving wife Donna, he is survived by a sister Linda and brother-in-law Claude McGinnis of NC; a niece Tammy-Sue and her husband Patrick VanCleef of NC; Two great-nieces Kelle and Courtney VanCleef; and his beloved dog Shadow. Bill was predeceased by his first wife ‘Peg’ (Richter) Hinson.
The Funeral Services will be on Friday, Aug. 7 at 10 AM at the West Suffield Congregational Church. Friends may call at the Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Rd., West Suffield on Thursday, Aug. 6 from 5 to 8 PM. The Masonic Service will start at 7:30 PM.
