Woman's Body Found In Canal In Suffield

No identification of the body has yet been made, according to police.

SUFFIELD, CT — A person walking in the area of the Windsor Locks Canal trail in Suffield discovered a woman's body Friday afternoon, according to police.

The body was discovered around 3 p.m. in the canal adjacent to the Connecticut River, Suffield Police Chief Richard Brown said. The location is about a mile and a half south of the Route 190 bridge between Suffield and Enfield, Enfield Chief Alaric Fox said.

Windsor Locks police officers are also assisting at the scene, and the medical examiner's office will assist in identification of the body, Fox said.
