1 Dead In Fatal East Haddam Residential Fire: State Police
State police said one person is dead following a fatal residential fire in East Haddam.

EAST HADDAM, CT — State police said one person is dead following a fatal residential fire at 51 Ackley Cemetery Road in East Haddam. The incident occurred Monday afternoon at approximately 3:08 p.m., state police said.
State police said troopers from Troop K-Colchester and firefighters responded to the scene after receiving reports of a residential fire, according to a release.
A deceased victim was subsequently located inside the home after the fire was extinguished, state police said. The victim has not yet been identified by police.

Connecticut State Police detectives from the Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit (FEIU) and Eastern District Major Crime (EDMC) also responded to the scene and are assisting with the investigation, state police said.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an examination to identify of the victim and the cause and manner of death, state police said.
