$27.7 Million Budget Passes in Haddam
Concerns were raised, questions were answered and the budget was passed.
Haddam held its annual town meeting at the Haddam Fire Station in Higganum on Wednesday where residents had the opportunity to discuss concerns prior to voting on the three agenda items (see video).
The town’s proposed $27,764,028 budget for fiscal year 2011-2012 was passed unanimously. The budget represents a 1.3 percent increase over this year’s $27.4 million budget. Concerns were raised over how potential changes to the state budget might affect town budgets and if the town's tax rate would be greatly affected.
Residents also unanimously authorized the Board of Selectmen to accept any and all Town Aid Highway Funds and unanimously adopted the Capital Improvement Budget as detailed on page six of the budget proposal.
