A Journey from William Gillette to Sherlock Holmes

The East Haddam Historical Society Museum will set the stage for a one-act play about the beloved local man turned acting sleuth.

Starting this weekend, the East Haddam Stage Company (EHSCO) will present an original one-act play titled Sherlock Holmes: From Page to Stage at the East Haddam Historical Society. The play follows William Gillette’s journey from Victorian stage actor to his most well known role as Sherlock Holmes, super sleuth.

The play was written by Kandie Carle, Artistic Director of the EHSCO. Carle is also directing the play, which will be presented for six performances.

The cast includes Michael Vernon Davis of Niantic, Clair Lissitzyn of West Hartford, George Lombardo of Wethersfield and Jay Selavka of Meriden.

The play begins this weekend July 29-August 1 and will run through next weekend August 7-9 at the East Haddam Historical Society Museum on 264 Town Street in East Haddam.

Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday shows begin at 3:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 at the door. No reservations are needed, however, there is limited seating.
