• Serious Crash Closes Route 81 In Haddam: Police, DOT (patch.com) — Drivers in Haddam faced major disruption Monday afternoon after a serious multi-car crash with injuries shut down Route 81 in both directions near Burr Road. State police and DOT reported the 3:25 p.m. collision, and investigators remained on scene into the late afternoon as the road closure continued and details about those involved were still limited.    

• CT state parks, trails and dams about to get major upgrades. Here's where the funding is going (courant.com) — Beaver Meadow Dam in Haddam is slated for repairs as part of a new round of state funding to upgrade dams, parks, and trails across Connecticut. The State Bond Commission approved millions for park improvements, trail grants, and environmental cleanups, with work expected to begin this summer and additional projects planned in towns like Waterbury, Portland, Oxford, and others.
