State Police Probe Report Of Man Firing Weapon By Killingworth Trail

KILLINGWORTH, CT — State police are investigating a report of a suspicious male discharging a weapon near a local trail head.

The incident happened Monday evening in the area of the Horse Trail, according to state police.

The investigation remains active as of Tuesday, state police said.

A male caller reported he was entering his vehicle near a trail head when a man in a red hoodie ran out of the woods, banged on his window, then fired shots over his vehicle.

Neither the caller nor the vehicle were struck. The caller left the scene and met state troopers at Haddam-Killingworth High School.
