Award-Winning Author to Visit East Haddam Elementary School

Newbery Award Winner Patricia MacLachlan will visit the students at East Haddam Elementary School on Friday, April 5 to present her new book, Nora's Chicks. 

Patricia MacLachlan is the author of many novels and picture books. She was born on the prairie and currently lives in Western Massachusetts. 

Some of her other books include: 

• Sarah, Plain and Tall (HarperCollins)
• All the Places to Love (HarperCollins)
• Skylark (Harper Trophy)
• Grandfather's Dance (HarperCollins)

Students have the opportunity to purchase Nora's Chicks and have the author sign it at the event. The event is sponsored by the East Haddam Elementary School PTO and the school library.

Books were made available through R.J. Julia Booksellers in Madison. 10% of the profits of all books sold will go back to the PTO to be used towards cultural awareness programs and education.
