Ballplayer from East Haddam Selected by Minnesota Twins in MLB Draft

An East Haddam resident who starred at Xavier High School was selected during the three-day Major League Baseball draft last week.

Matt Albanese, an outfielder who currently plays at Bryant University, was chosen by the Minnesota Twins in the seventh round with the 213th overall pick.

Albanese was one of 11 players with Connecticut ties who were drafted. The complete list follows:
