Bear Kills Pet Goats in Killingworth

KILLINGWORTH, CT — A Killingworth family says that a bear has attacked an killed their two pet goats, NBC Connecticut reported.

This past weekend, Cathy and Rob were out on their deck enjoying a cup of coffee, when they heard a scream from their goat pen. They discovered a bear was attacking their goats.

The family called the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection as the bear was tagged. DEEP officials were unable to locate the bear, but told the family that they had the right to shoot it if the bear returned.

The bear returned three hours later. Rob shot the bear, killing it with a single shot.
