Become an Emergency Medical Technician

This course is offered by East Haddam Park and Rec, Middlesex Hospital, Emergency Medical Services Office and the CT Dept. of Public Health.

Emergency Medical Technician

This course is offered in cooperation with East Haddam Park and Recreation, Middlesex Hospital, Office of Emergency Medical Services and the CT Department of Public Health. The curriculum prepares you to take the exams to become nationally registered and state of Connecticut certified at the basic emergency medical technician level. Lectures, demonstrations and hands-on training provide the knowledge and skills required for certification. There are no prerequisites for this course, but you must be at least 16 years of age.

Once nationally registered, many colleges and universities will offer 3-4 elective credits.

This course can also be used to pursue a career to volunteer in EMS.

Dates: September 1, 2015 – December 17, 2015

Every Tuesday/Thursday 6 pm – 10 pm

One Saturday per month 9 am – 4 pm

Cost: $799 (includes 1566 page textbook, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, pocket mask and AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification)
