Bicycle vs. Motor-Vehicle, DUI and Possession of Marijuana

East Haddam area police activity reports.

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents:

BICYCLE vs. MOTOR-VEHICLE - On Oct. 3 at approximately 6:43 p.m., East Haddam Police responded to the area of Town Street and Boardman Road in East Haddam for a collision involving a bicycle and a 2005 Hyundai Sonata. The operator of the bicycle was transported via East Haddam Ambulance to Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown  for evaluation and treatment of a minor ankle injury.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA AND OPERATING A MOTOR-VEHICLE WITH A LOUD MUFFLER - On Oct. 14, Thomas Fournier, 52, of 1113 Portland-Cobalt Road, Portland was pulled over by police on East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike in Moodus for operating a vehicle with a loud muffler. After failing the Standardized Field-Sobriety Tests administered by police, Fournier was subsequently arrested and charged with the above. He was transported to Troop K, processed and released on a $1,500 bond, and scheduled to appear in Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 10/26/11.
