Changing Spaces

For the past eight years, I worked in an office environment. Now I work from home. How has life changed for me?

For the past eight years, I've worked in an office enviroment. Each job had a slightly different setting. There was the open, industrial loft in Brooklyn down under the Manhattan bridge overpass. Then I relocated to a two-story office building nestled in one of Connecticut's many beautiful residental areas. But my latest job, which started today, is drastically different. I'm working from home.

My husband and I have a three bedroom house and with two of the bedrooms empty (we're kid-less so far), I had some options. We turned one of the rooms into my working sanctuary. My antiqued desk overlooks a bay window where birds chirp amongst the trees brimming with life. A ceiling fan hums. A leather loveseat shines from fresh polishing. My border collie coos by my feet. Yes, this is my new work environment and yes, I love it so far.

What is your work environment like? Does it work for you?
