Firearm bans comes to Killingworth II: Legislative Alert

Legislators in Hartford will be meeting on Monday, January 28th, 2013 in a public hearing to discuss many of the gun control bills proposed during the January legislative session.

 

Legislators in Hartford will be meeting on Monday, January 28th, 2013 in a public hearing to allow open discussion over many of the gun control bills proposed during the January legislative session.  Many of these proposed bills include controversial measures such as-

-Prohibiting possession of firearms capable of firing more than a single round

-Restricting firearm usage to shooting ranges and gun clubs

-Requiring state issued permits to purchase ammunition

-Prohibiting internet purchases of ammunition

-Establishing legal limits to the number of rounds of ammunition individuals may possess

-A 50% sales tax on all ammunition

-Mandatory confiscation of existing firearm feeding devices

-Mandatory registration of all firearms with a mandatory re-registration every two years

The Killingworth Republican Town Committee represents a law abiding community with a rich small town heritage and farming ancestry, and many Killingworth residents will be negatively affected by these proposals.  We therefore invite all residents who may be impacted by these proposed bills to attend this public hearing and address their opinions and concerns.  Public testimony will be allowed.  The hearing will be held at:
