"Fridays at 5:30" Continues at the Rathbun Library with Goodspeed Musical Director, F. Wade Russo

A delightful time will be had by all when you attend the Fridays at 5:30 program at the Rathbun Free Memorial Library in splendid downtown East Haddam. Fridays at 5:30 is a much beloved series of programs in East Haddam, and should not be missed by any lover of the arts.  A modest donation of $5 is requested to join in the festivities, with all funds directly benefitting the library.

 The Friends of Rathbun have gathered together a multitude of guest speakers sure to please a wide variety of tastes.  Patrons of all ages are invited to enjoy delectable light refreshments in the lush beauty of the Rathbun Library Garden. This social aspect of the evening’s program provides an excellent opportunity to meet and socialize with like-minded citizens about the upcoming presentation or day-to-day life and experiences. Afterwards, the guest of honor will give a presentation about his or her subject of artistic expertise. Upon completion of the presentation, patrons will be invited to ask the speaker questions related to the presenter’s craft.  

The next featured speaker is Mr. F Wade Russo who is the musical director of the Goodspeed Opera House’s latest hit musical, Carousel.  Mr. Russion will be discussing his personal experiences as a musician, director, and conductor along with other subjects related to his craft.

Meet Local Author Maureen Heidtmann as she discusses her collection of short stories, artwork, and poetry - Midnight Stroll as well as her other books (including the popular Driveby Duck series for children).

In addition to being a brilliant author, Ms. Heidtmann is an accomplished animal expert, nature activist, former lobbyist, chef, artist, librarian, printer, and humanitarian. Her wide variety of experiences promise to make this program unforgettable!
