REMINDER: Referendum on the Killingworth Town Hall addition tomorrow, July 24, 2012
The Killingworth Republican Town Committee reminds everyone to attend the town referendum tomorrow, July 24th, at the Killingworth Elementary School.

The Killingworth Republican Town Committee would like to remind all Killingworth residents as well as business owners registered to vote in Killingworth that a general vote to approve or deny the proposed town hall addition is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, July 24th, at the Killingworth Elementary School from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
One of the main reasons there is such extraordinary debate over the town hall addition is because there is simply too much information to digest in such a short time for anyone to make a truly informed decision. Is it cheaper to repair what we have, or to replace it and pay it off over the long run? Do we really need all the amenities included in the town hall project or are they expensive options unnecessary to the actual running of town gov't? Is geothermal heating genuinely cheaper, or is it really more expensive in the long run due to the increase in operational costs? How much will this project actually cost us in taxes? The less we know about such issues, the more likely that reasoned discussions will fall away and slide into confusion and partisan politics that serves noone.
The proper place to start for people to begin understanding this issue is by visiting the KRTC website at www.killingworthgop.org (clicking the website name will open the site in your web browser automatically) so that they may see for themselves the reasons for why this project has grown beyond just a simple request to create an extended town hall to become a major issue that even political parties are taking notice of. As stated before, this is not a partisan issue; it is an issue that affects Republicans, Democrats, and independents alike, both for ourselves and for our children, and it is critical that we need to have a key understanding of the issue for us to make an informed choice on such an important decision.
