The Perfect Place for Dogs - Here

I am a dog person by peridgree. As a native New Yorker, how do I see a dog's life now that I live in Connecticut?

I am a dog person by peridgree. I grew up in a household that had more dogs than people. In New York, where space was limited and much of my seven-pound dogs' time was spent indoors, I often wondered if these tiny pups cared to experience the outside world.

Now I have a four-year-old, 45-pound border collie. He roams my three acres daily and spends his time catching balls, sniffing in the woods and chasing squirrels (and any animal that even slightly resembles a squirrel). It is a life of open space and freedom.

These doggy lifestyles couldn't be more different.

Dogs don't need much to be happy. I know all my dogs lived long, healthy lives. But now that I live in Connecticut where there are so many beautiful parks, forrests, farms and fields flourishing in their vast bodies, I am destined to let my dog gallavant in this glory. I hope you do, too. Even if you have the little pups. Come on, don't let my border collie have all the fun.
