Urban Turned Rural

For the first 21 years of my life, I lived in New York. Trees were minimal, space was minimal and the term "slow paced" was minimally used. Don't get me wrong, I loved it. Anything you wanted was at your fingertips, from beaches to shopping to nightlife. Friends flourished and accessibility was king. But I missed things I never knew I loved - nature, neighbors, hiking, camping, exploration...the list goes on.
My husband is from this area of Connecticut and when I decided to move up here to be with him, I instantly felt at home. All of the things I never knew I loved were all around me. Connecticut was my new playground and I was ready to swing, climb and jump my way around.
Today, I spend much of my time outdoors, no matter the weather. I jump in leaf piles, pick flowers, hike up hills, bike on trails, swim in lakes and picnic on the grass. No matter where I go - New York or Connecticut - I find ways to enjoy and explore the area around me. But now in this area, I thrive because trees are prevalent, space is prevelant, and the term "slow paced" is often used.
