Ziobron 2012 Campaign News!

I am thrilled to announce that my campaign is prepared to file for CEP funding!!

I am proud to announce that my campaign for State Representative for the 34th House District will be submitting the necessary paperwork to qualify for funding under the Connecticut Citizens Election Program (CEP), on Monday morning-July 3rd. In fact, I believe my campaign will be the first in the area to do so.

I am very grateful to all my supporters and contributors for their confidence in my campaign and especially to my new Campaign Chairman, David Balthazar for his hard work over the last two weeks in following-up on contributions. Thanks also to Campaign Treasurer Laurie Miller and Deputy Treasurer Margaret Jacobson (Mom) for filing and copying copious documents. The CEP is intended to make it easier for first-time candidates to run for elective office and to remove the influence of special interests from campaigns. To qualify for CEP funding, which is funded with taxpayer dollars---candidates for State Representative are required to raise $5,000 and 150 of those contributors must reside in the 34th district. No contribution can be more than $100. In my case, the majority of our contributions came from all three towns-East Hampton, East Haddam and Colchester. The campaign also received contributions from dear friends and family who reside out of district.

I am especially proud and energized by the broad based support my campaign has received, which confirms my belief that the 34th District is ready for new, ‘Common Sense’ leadership. My campaign team, which consists of 12 coordinators and dozens of volunteers are preparing for the next and most important phase of the campaign. It will focus on door knocking throughout the district, listening to voters concerns and sharing my vision--which includes reducing state spending, lowering taxes, and an increased emphasis on generating jobs and economic growth.

The three elements of my campaign are very clear: ECONOMY, COMMUNITY, and ENVIRONMENT. Over the next few months, I look forward to sharing with you what this means to me and more importantly-hearing what it means to you. Please use the “Volunteer “ link at the top of the page to find out how you can help me bring these values to Hartford!

…because it’s YOUR money!
