Join East Haddam for a day-long community celebration commemorating America’s 250th Anniversary. Activities include a public reading of the Declaration of Independence, community scroll signing, patriotic music by the Moodus Drum & Fife Corps and the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard Band, historical exhibits, Revolutionary-era children's activities, Indigenous Wangunk exhibits and presentations, a recreation of Philadelphia’s Independence Hall Assembly Room, a Revolutionary Cemetery Tour, and a presentation on Nathan Hale in movies and on stage. You’re welcome to come dressed as your favorite revolutionary hero/heroine or wear red, white, and blue.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the day. Free parking and shuttle service will operate from the East Haddam Municipal Office Building Complex (MOBC) located at 1 Plains Road in Moodus to the event site from 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM. Only Service Dogs allowed.
