Help Fill the East Haddam Emergency Fuel Bank

With heating fuel prices at extreme levels, more people are uncertain whether the assistance programs they depend on will remain available, while others may need help for the first time this season. Fortunately, the East Haddam Emergency Fuel Bank has assisted families with home heating costs since 1977. First Church of Christ, Congregational proudly sponsors and supports this nonprofit. East Haddam Youth and Family Services provides referrals for one-time emergency fuel assistance. Tax-deductible donations from area churches, community organizations, businesses, and individuals fund the program. Because there are no administrative costs, 100% of cash and check donations go directly to fuel assistance.

On Saturday, November 14, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, volunteers will collect donations at local businesses during this year’s Fill the Emergency Fuel Bank Saturday. You can donate anytime by Venmo, PayPal, or credit card at www.firstchurchehct.org/east-haddam-emergency-fuel-bank. Mailed donations are also welcome. Make checks payable to East Haddam Emergency Fuel Bank and send them c/o First Church, PO Box 445, East Haddam, CT 06423-0445.
