East Haddam Police Blotter March 28 to April 6
The following arrest information was supplied by the East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police. It does not indicate a conviction.

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents:
SCHOOL BUS vs MOTOR-VEHICLE - On March 28th at approximately 7:22 a.m., East Hampton Police responded to an accident on North Maple Street at the East Hampton High School parking lot. Amanda Poland, 25, of 129 Falls Road, Moodus was attempting to leave the school parking lot, operating a 2004 International school bus. Police said she struck a 1996 Toyota Tercel, being driven by a 16-year-old East Hampton resident. The collision reportedly caused the Toyota to spin-out and hit a tree head-on. The 16-year-old driver was transported to Middlesex Hospital for evaluation of neck and back pain, and was issued an infraction for operating a motor-vehicle without a proper instructor. Poland was issued an infraction for failure to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign. Neither Poland nor a two-year-old child passenger on the bus were reported to have sustained any injuries.

BREACH OF PEACE, SECOND-DEGREE RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON IN A MOTOR-VEHICLE, CARRYING A DANGEROUS WEAPON AND POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA - On March 30th at approximately 1:01 p.m., Montville Police arrested David Seaquist, 19, of 103 North Moodus Road, Moodus and charged him with the above violations. Seaquist had reportedly been involved in a domestic altercation in the parking lot of Nature's Art in Montville and later stopped by police as he was driving on Route 85. He was found to be in possession of an illegal stun-gun. Seaquist was released on a $10,000 insured bond and scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court in Norwich on 4/2/12.
TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS - On March 31st at approximately 9:19 a.m., Crystal Glemser-Jones, 18, of 63 Grove Street, Middletown was traveling southbound on O'Connell Road Extension in East Haddam, in a 2002 Mazda Tribute. As Glemser-Jones was attempting to negotiate a right-hand turn on the wet, unpaved roadway, she reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The car left the road and came to rest against a large rock. Glemser-Jones was issued a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions. No injuries were reported.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, EVADING AND FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT - On April 4th at approximately 7:06 p.m., Steven Maheu, 39, of 10 Brainerd Road, Portland was arrested and charged with the above violations. Maheu was later released on a $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court in Manchester on 4/23/12.
LARCENY AND TRESPASSING - On April 5th at 5:00 p.m., Sean Barry, 21, of 593 Town Street, Moodus was arrested for 6th-degree larceny and criminal trespass. Barry was released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of 4/24/12 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.
LARCENY AND TRESPASSING - On April 5th at 5:00 p.m., Katelyn Ella Cook, 18, of 7 Dogwood Drive, East Hampton was arrested for 6th-degree larceny and criminal trespass. Cook was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 4/24/12.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS AND FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT - On April 6th at approximately 7:43 p.m., East Haddam Police observed a Chevy Malibu as it traveled along Grist Mill Road in Moodus and crossed over the center of the roadway, into the opposite travel lane. Thelma Bennis, 56, of 12 Grist Mill Road, Moodus failed a series of field-sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with the above violations. Bennis was later released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of 4/18/12 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.
