CRWC Invites Supporters To River Designation
The Connecticut River will be the first to be designated in national initiative

The Connecticut River Watershed Council has sent out an email inviting its supporters to attend Thursday's Blueway event in Hartford.
According to the email, US Department of Interior Secretary Ken Salazar will be designating the Connecticut River into the national Blueway initiative system.

The river will be the first national Blueway, the email says, a program the CRWC defines as "an innovative set of recreational, conservation, and educational initiatives implemented by local, regional, state and federal partners."
The event will be held on Thursday, May 24 at 11:15 a.m. at Riverside Park in Hartford at the Riverfront Boathouse on the upper deck.
