CT Firefighters To-Be-Honored at Recognition Day Ceremony

The Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company is hosting a Firefighter Recognition Day ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Middlefield Firehouse, 406 Jackson Hill Rd.“The Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company will be accepting a proclamation from the Governor announcing September 6, 2014, as Firefighter Recognition Day,” the company posted on its Facebook page.

“The proclamation will honor all Connecticut firefighters for their service,” according to the company. “The Middlefield Fire Company was chosen to receive this proclamation for all firefighters, both career and volunteer, in Connecticut. The ceremony will be attended by many state and local dignitaries. The public is invited to attend this event to support the firefighters of Connecticut.”
