Daniel Pearl World Music Days at the First Church of Christ Congregational

The janus trio will perform Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.

As part of the Music at the Meetinghouse series at the First Church of Christ Congregational at 499 Town Street in East Haddam, the janus trio will perform on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The trio is composed of Amanda Baker on flute, Beth Meyers on viola and Nuiko Wadden on harp. The janus trio is known for innovative performances of both classical and modern works.

This event has been dedicated by janus to be part of the Daniel Pearl World Music Days, an annual period in October when "musicians gather to continue his life work and use music to spread a message of harmony and peace. The Daniel Pearl Foundation was established to carry on his legacy, using music and journalism to counter the root causes of the hatred that took his life." Daniel Pearl was the Wall Street Journal South Asia Bureau Chief who was kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Pakistan shortly after 9/11. He used his pen and fiddle to foster tolerance, bridge cultural divides and spread friendship when he traveled.
