Written by Michael Hayes

UPDATE: The Haddam Resident Troopers Office is asking residents to be on look out for a black 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix, possibly being driven by a female and also being used by two white males.

This vehicle was seen in the area of a daytime forced entry burglary on Spencer Rd in Higganum this past Wednesday (stolen jewelry and power tools). . .  This vehicle pulled into a driveway in another area of town and two the white males asked for directions after knocking on a door on the same day of the burglary on Spencer Rd. They were nervous and left in a hurry.

State Police are urging residents to remain vigilant despite the arrests this week of three burglary suspects linked to crimes in Durham, Killingworth and Haddam over the winter.

In an alert sent to residents of Killingworth today, Resident State Trooper Matthew Ward said police are investigating a residential burglary on Spencer Road in Haddam that took place on Tuesday.

Ward provided the following reminders for the warmer weather approaching:

-watch for bicyclists and pedestrians in the roadways and walking in the neighborhoods
-don't leave your valuables out in the open in your vehicles if you leave your vehicles to go on walks/hikes
-remember to lock your vehicles in your driveway at night
-don't leave valuable items out in your yards overnight or your sheds open/unlocked when not in use.
-remain vigilant about reporting suspicious people or suspicious vehicles on your streets or in your neighborhoods
