Drowsy SUV Driver Crashes into School Bus on Haddam-Killingworth Line
The driver told police it was too late to avoid the crash when he woke up.
HADDAM, CT - Police said an SUV crashed head-on into a school bus Wednesday on the Haddam-Killingworth line, NBC Connecticut reported.
The incident occurred after an 18-year old Clinton man dozed off while driving, according to NBC Connecticut. The driver told police it was too late to avoid the crash when he woke up.
No children were on the bus at the time of the crash, and both drivers were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, NBC Connecticut reported. The SUV was cited for failure to drive right, and Killingworth Road remains closed as the SUV is being removed from the scene.
