Dump Truck Crash Fire Shuts Down Route 81 in Haddam
A portion of the road has shut down due to an overturned dump truck that caught fire.

HADDAM, CT - A portion of Route 81 in Haddam is expected to be shut down for a number of hours after a dump truck crashed and caught fire, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
Route 81 was reported closed Thursday at 1:37 p.m. at Soobitsky Road because of a motor vehicle accident involving an overturned dump truck. The location of the crash is less than a mile away from Haddam-Killingworth High School.
The fire was knocked down by firefighters just before 1:30 p.m., and the truck driver suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to the Middletown Press. The DOT estimated the road could be closed until early Thursday evening.
