Durham Armed Robbery Suspect Sought by Police

Anyone with information is asked to call state police.

A man reportedly walked into Liberty Bank, 357 Main St., Durham, right before 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23. He allegedly displayed a handgun before demanding cash, according to state police. He reportedly received an undetermined amount of cash and fled the scene.

Witnesses described the suspect as follows:

  • 5’6” to 5’8”
  • White
  • Wearing a black ski mask, baseball hat, hoodie and gloves
  • Witnesses described him as having a ’European-type accent’

The suspect fled the scene in a gray four-door wagon.

State police were called to the bank after receiving a bank alarm from the Liberty Bank, reporting a robbery had taken place at that location. State police troopers and K-9 teams searched the area. The State Police Major Crime Detectives responded to conduct the investigation into this robbery.

All surrounding police agencies were advised of the robbery. State Police detectives are continuing this investigation.
