E. Haddam Man Denied Murdered Wife's Life Insurance

A judge ruled in favor of an insurance company in the case.

EAST HADDAM, CT — A federal court ruled that an insurance company does not currently have to pay a $257,000 policy to a man that belonged to his wife who was murdered, according to The Hartford Courant. No one has been charged in the woman's death.

The judge ruled that Zurich American Life Insurance Company should place Sandra Kalosky's insurance benefit in an escrow account instead of paying it to Robert Kalosky, her husband.

The judge said that because the March 2018 homicide is unsolved, the insurance company is in a difficult situation.
