East Haddam Man Barricaded Himself In His House
Route 82 and Mount Parnassus Road was shut down late Saturday night during a three-hour standoff with police.

Edward Currie, 61, reportedly barricaded himself in his home on Mount Parnasus Road in East Haddam after calling police to his residence to file a complaint.
When State Police arrived, Currie barricaded himself inside his home and refused to come out.

State police were able to get Currie out of the home peacefully after a three-hour standoff. The original complaint by Currie was determined to be false.
Curry is being held on a $20,000 bond and is charged with the following: interfering with an officer, falsely reporting an incident and breach of peace. Curry is scheduled to appear in court today.
