East Haddam Mother Blames Vicodin Prescription For Son's Death
The mother of an East Haddam mother whose son died in 2016 is speaking out about the dangers of addiction.
EAST HADDAM, CT — The mother of an East Haddam teen who died in 2016 is speaking out, saying that an unnecessary Vicodin prescription is to blame for her son's addiction and fatal overdose, according to WTNH. The boy, Lukas Breton, suffered a leg injury in skiing crash and was given the initial prescription. He later died from a heroin overdose.
“I think that first prescription he got, taking the Vicodin after be broke his leg, definitely rewired him in some ways," his mother, Debbie Breton, said. "My beautiful boy, who fell into that trap all from a prescription."
