East Haddam Police Investigate Food Bank Burglary & Larceny

East Haddam Police Activity Reports, April 16 -27

The East Haddam Police and The Connecticut State Police, Troop K, report the following incidents:

DRINKING WHILE DRIVING, DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT, AND FAILURE TO CARRY A VALID INSURANCE ID CARD - On April 16, Todd Goodspeed, 21, of 129 Parker Road, East Haddam, was arrested on the above charges, processed and released on a $500 non-surety bond. 

LARCENY - On April 18, The East Haddam Resident Troopers' Office received a complaint of a stolen (outboard) boat motor from a Salem Road, East Haddam resident. Anyone with possible information that could help this investigation is asked to contact the Resident Troopers' Office at 860-873-1226.

TWO-CAR HEAD-ON COLLISION - On April 19, at approximately 2:43 p.m., Charles Marshall, 19, of Brook Hill Road, East Haddam, was traveling northbound on Town Street in East Haddam, in a 2003 Ford Taurus, and made a right-hand turn onto East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike. Meagan Salisbury, 18, of Alger Road, East Haddam, was traveling westbound on East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike in a 2006 Toyota 4-Runner, and was struck head-on by Marshall's vehicle. No injuries were reported.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT - On April 21, a Beebe Road resident reported a basement window that had been disturbed (pushed in) and police are investigating.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, SECOND-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, AND RISK OF INJURY TO A MINOR - On April 23, at approximately 2:02 a.m., police arrested Tod Boulware, 44, of 30 Main St., East Haddam, related to a complaint of a domestic dispute. Boulware was held on a $50,000 bond and was held at the Hartford Correctional Center. 


BURGLARY AND LARCENY - On April 23, police received a complaint from a resident of Forest Way. It was reported that sometime between 1/3/11 and 4/23/11, a Vizio flat-screen TV worth approximately $300 and $400 in silver coins and half-dollars had been removed from a summer cottage. Police said it appeared that entry had been gained through an unlocked kitchen window. No damages were reported, and the case is under investigation.

BURGLARY AND LARCENY - On April 27, sometime between 6:15 p.m. and 11 p.m., a storage closet at the old Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School on Plains Road in Moodus was reportedly entered and items were disturbed. Nothing appeared to be taken, however an estimated $100 of damage to the closet door occurred. It was also reported that approximately $100 worth of food was stolen from The East Haddam Food Bank and police are investigating.
