The Town of East Haddam recently formed an Agriculture Commission and represents one in only a handful of towns in Connecticut serving agriculture in this way. Agriculture links East Haddam’s past with the present and future, serving as a cornerstone that speaks to the character of the town.
An underlying premise for starting the Commission is to preserve and protect the town's rural heritage by supporting what is currently here as well as promoting future growth in agriculture. The Agriculture Commission strives to serve as a resource base for local farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs and also to encourage new agricultural enterprises.
The Commission would appreciate your help in identifying and prioritizing the needs and desires of East Haddam's agricultural community.
