Goodspeed Presents Show Boat

Show Boat, a sweeping tale spanning four decades, is a journey into the lives, loves and heartbreaks of three generations of show folk on the mighty Mississippi River. Jerome Kern's masterpiece is a treasure trove of unforgettable music including "Ol' Man River," "Can't Help Loving That Man" and "You Are Love." Book and lyrics are by Oscar Hammerstein.

Show Boat will be directed by Rob Ruggiero, who directed Looped on Broadway and 1776 , Camelot and Annie Get Your Gun at the Goodspeed.

Curtain times are Wednesday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Thursday at 7:30 p.m. (with select performances at 2:00 p.m.), Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. (with select performances at 6:30 p.m.).

Advance season subscriptions are now on sale through the box office (860-873-8668), open seven days a week, or online at www.goodspeed.org. Subscription prices range from $82.50 to $210 at the Goodspeed Opera House for one person, all three shows. Single tickets go on sale beginning February 20, 2011.
