Launch Event: Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge

Included in the 14 Communities in line to receive help in reducing energy costs are the  "Patch towns"  of East Haddam, Portland, and East Hampton.

Leaders from across the state will gather in Hartford today to launch The Connecticut Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge, a community energy savings campaign that is helping Connecticut residents save money, reduce energy use and create vital green jobs in their communities.

The Connecticut Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge is made possible by a $4.17 million Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, funded as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Over three years, the program will engage residents in 14 towns, helping them reduce their energy use by 20 percent.
