The Seventh Annual Gladys Burr Peck Memorial Organ Concert featuring Brian Parks at the Organ will be combined with a concert to celebrate the 350th Anniversary of the Settlement of the Town of Haddam. Brian will be joined by the ethereal voice of soprano Anne Rhodes.
The theme will be American composers. It will include music from 1662 and forward, including music by Charles Ives (Connecticut's native son), William Albright, Alvin Lucier, Benjamin Carr, J.P. Sousa, Neely Bruce, and a premier Parks composition based off a fragment of a hymn-tune called "Haddam," provided by the 350th steering committee.
As is tradition, two of Mrs. Peck's favorite hymns, to be sung by the congregation.
