Chester, CT, September 29, 2011: New London is coming! New London is coming!!

Presented by Small Town Concert Series, the scope and energy of the biggest little Connecticut music scene will be in Chester for the sampling. Lock up your daughters and bolt the doors, ‘cause the rollicking rebel music of New London’s cream of the music scene is invading the Chester Meeting House to fill your ears with song, your heart with joy, and your toes with tapping fever.

On Friday, October 14^th, from 7:30 – 9:30 check out New London’s Olympian musical might of The Rivergods (voted Best Americana Band at this year’s New London Whalie Awards -- 15 years and still rockin’), whose new award-winning release, Signs, started 2011 with a bang.

Also featured on the bill for Friday, October 14^th, will be Chris Makay & The Toneshifters, a goodtimey roots/rock/blues group with accordion added for a little bit of Cajun spice – and an integral part of the acoustic scene, Maggie’s Guitar, a New London-based group that plays an eclectic mix of electric and acoustic rock, folk and originals.

Then, on Saturday, October 15^th, at 7:30 the New London Invasion continues with Anne Castellano (an entertaining one-woman show of Alternative/Gothic/Indie Pop), Jim Carpenter (performing songwriter/writer/producer and storyteller in the south of Dixie tradition who brings Latin, gospel, Zydeco and bluegrass influences to his music). 

Also on the Saturday bill, John Fries & The Heat bring their scorching brand of new and rootsy electric blues and slide guitar – all in all, one of the hottest New London acts (no pun intended). 

Without having to cross the river, come get a taste of what The Music from New London that everybody’s talking about . . . you won’t be sorry (and don’t worry about your daughters – just kidding).
