The Second Annual (Solar-Powered) Local Music Tribal Summit

The Sanctuary and Dirt Floor Studios present the Second Annual (Solar-Powered) Local Music Tribal Summit 2011. Two days of peace and music, this all ages music festival will include 18+ local bands mostly from the lower CT river valley but also from New London, Hartford, Rhode Island and Seattle, WA.

Festival days are Saturday, Sept. 17th (11 AM to 11 PM) and Sunday, Sept. 18th (10 AM to 6 PM). Saturday will feature a wide variety of local musical groups, on two stages: outside under the Sanctuary circus stage and a more intimate inside performance space in the Sanctuary yurt. The Sunday program will begin with morning yoga classes, potluck breakfast, drumming and children’s music and other activities.

This year the Sanctuary welcomes holistic vendors to set up booths. Contact the Sanctuary if you are interested in having a booth at the festival, or performing.

The festival will include an open mic section for musicians who are not performing a full set or for open jams, a drumming circle, and a jazz & blues jam Sunday afternoon.

This is an all ages event. Guests are welcome to picnic on the Sanctuary lawn and explore the Sanctuary’s 40 acre land preserve.
